Brendan Bowyer the special guest for Showband Show

Keith and Lorraine McDonald, two of Ireland's most respected singers and musicians, will be performing in the Salthill Hotel next Thursday night, August 25, with the Showband Show and special guest Brendan Bowyer.
The two have been receiving rave reviews for their high-energy cabaret and dancing shows with the recently reformed Showband Show.
This outfit was one of the most sought after bands of the late 1990s, but after several successful years on the road, Keith and Lorraine opted to pursue other avenues in the entertainment business.
In addition to their live performances, both are very sought-after session musicians and vocalists for various Irish recording artists.
They are now together again for specially selected performances and one of these is next Thursday in the Salthill Hotel.
This is the final night of the Summer Cabaret season at the Salthill Hotel. Special guest for the occasion will be the legendary Brendan Bowyer, alongside a specially augmented Big Band featuring the cream of Irish musicians, including Keith and Lorraine.
Brendan Bowyer is one of the top showband names in Ireland and retains the energy he was renowned for during the exciting days of The Royal Showband and The Big Eight.
The Beatles played support when The Royal Showband toured Britain after the Irish band were voted Britain's Most Outstanding Dance Band on BBC Television's Come Dancing in 1962. The Hucklebuck, which was the biggest of his six No 1 hits, went platinum internationally.
His come-back album Follow On, released in 2001, was named Record of the month in Hot Press.
Tickets for what will be a great night for all fans of showband music are €20 in advance from the Salthill Hotel or people can pay at the door on the night. There will be a cabaret and dancing with light refreshments served.
■ Doors open 8.30 and the show will begin at 9pm.
