BOMB SCARE ON HEADFORD ROAD DECLARED A HOAX

The army has declared safe a suspect device found in a city recyling plant. The army bomb disposal unit was called out to the Barna Waste plant on the Headford Road after an employee found a suspicious device in a recycling bin around 9 o'clock this morning. They examined the device and found it to be an elaborate hoax. A photo of the device seen by Galway Bay FM News shows what looked like six sticks of dynamite attached to a clock and batteries with wire. Gardai have taken away the hoax bomb to try and track down the person who planted it.
